If you’re looking for an easy and delicious side salad, this Easy Moroccan Tomato Salad is for you! It’s a perfect combination of fresh flavours with a touch of cumin that gives the salad a true Moroccan vibe. Ready in just 10 minutes!
WHAT IS EASY MOROCCAN TOMATO SALAD
This Easy Moroccan Tomato Salad is one of the most popular sides in Moroccan cuisine and it can be served with almost everything! It combines juicy tomatoes (you can use either cherry tomatoes or regular ripe tomatoes), fresh herbs, red onion, olive oil and spices (that include cumin, typical for Moroccan cuisine). It pairs perfectly with my Moroccan-style Harissa Chicken and Potato Bake!
INGREDIENTS YOU’LL NEED
- Tomatoes: I like to use cherry tomatoes as they don’t have so many seeds, but you can use regular ripe tomatoes as well.
- Red onion: Make sure to dice the onion very thinly to ensure even flavour distribution.
- Fresh herbs: Traditional recipes usually use fresh parsley and cilantro/coriander, but from time to time I also add fresh mint and basil.
- Spices: Use ground cumin, salt and pepper.
- Olive oil: When it comes to salads, always use high-quality extra virgin olive oil. It makes a huge difference!
